Cofer's "My Father in the Navy" and Joyce's short story "Araby" are autobiographical or narrative in nature. Review the chapter in the Longman concerning the rhetorical mode Narration (pgs. 109-116). Discuss two narration qualities you see in the poem and the short story collectively. 1 para.they both have alot of sensory detail the author of my father in the navy told about the round cap, the white cloth, the neon sign. in araby they talked about the yellow leaves , wild garden, rusty bicycle-pump, twinkling rivers Also they both shared the flashback characteristic. In my father in the navy was basically a whole flashback of the author remembering her fathers coming home. In araby he had a flashback of the conversation the young lady and two gentleman had.

I think that the target audience should be anyone who has a lot on their plate for example working moms maybe even like me a working mom that also goes to school full time. i think the ad should carry you through pictures of everthing you do through the day getting the kids on the bus getting ready for you day going to work or school doing you work . goingt to the grocery store cooking dinner bathing kids doing homework with your vhildren washing clothes getting stuff ready for the next day. the purpose of the product would be something you can use to help you get through your busy day when your are so tired but you have so much more left to do take a five hour energy

Then discuss why you believe the ad is bad. 2 para there is this ad for cat food on the ad it has pictures tuscany because they want you to think this cat food has a tuscany taste there is also a chef preparing the cat food in a pan with some home grown veggies with some oil this ad isnt very good because you wouldnt even realize that it is for cat food it looks more like a resuarant i would have made it more clearly focused on the cat food and what cats would like not tuscany flavored like its for a human or something.

At the bottom of the page it has two different flavors for the powder supplement then along the very bottom of this page it gives you 7 different places you can buy this product.
I think this ad is very effective because they are targeting women because thats who the product is made for. they give you a list of pros for the medicine and tell you plenty of places to go get them. So it makes it where you know alot about the product and they even give us a web address to go check it out. so i think if you are a women wanting to lose weight this ad is very effective.

Sneaking around with the opposite sex. They also sneak and wear make up. The writer tells us about the tween girls that have eating disorders at these early ages when they shouldnt even be concerned with wait. They see these modles and feel like they need to look just like them be their size and everything.

What other examples (at least 2) can you think of where individuals engage in group think in a dangerous manner? 1 para when you fall into groups of friends at school . you tend to just fall behind whoever you think is cool and do what they do no matter who it hurts yourself or others. Also those who get involved in gangs show group think in a negitive way through drugs and violence.

In Araby and in young goodman brown they experience the same plot. The both are on a mission . The character in Araby is going to the bazaar to get the girl he likes something. He had been wanting to talk to his friends sister for a long time. He never had the never to do it though. She talked to him one day and asked if he was going to araby that next day. He said he wanted to she told him she wasnt able to because she made other plans so he told her he would bring her something back from the bazaar.
IN Young goodman Brown he is going on a mission into the forest to take care of something that he feels like he really needs to take care of before morning. It never really goes into what his mission is but he is uncomfortable leaving his wife but really feels like he has to accomplish this trip throught the forest. Journal Prompt 10. In Walker's Beauty, discuss the issues that caused Walker to lose her self-esteem. 2 paragraphs
