I have been a hospice for Mary Alice for four years now. Mary is very stubborn in her ways and keeps to herself. I feel like I am talking to myself during most of our time together. But that all changed one day when I mentioned that I was signing my daughter up for ballet lessons. Her eyes seemed to regain their sparkle and she beckoned me closer. She asked me if she could tell me a story that few people had heard about her. The story she told me was full of a heart-filled, loving passion for dance. She also explained in great detail how she started dancing. She told me about a night filled with excitement at the highlight of her career. The final thing she told me was about how getting caught up in the moment seemed to have let time itself slip away.
