Cofer's "My Father in the Navy" and Joyce's short story "Araby" are autobiographical or narrative in nature. Review the chapter in the Longman concerning the rhetorical mode Narration (pgs. 109-116). Discuss two narration qualities you see in the poem and the short story collectively. 1 para.
The poem and short story are both in 1st person. They both have numerous characters, and have a point to the story. In “Araby” the little boy wanted to go to the fair; however, his father got home so late that by the time he made it to the fairs most of the rides were closed or were closing.
Journal Prompt 2. Conflict and conflict resolution are narration qualities. Conflicts can be man vs. man, man vs. nature, and man vs. self. Describe one example from Mayblum's "The Price We Pay" that exemplifies one of the aforementioned areas of conflict. 1 para. The conflict in "The Price We Pay" is man vs. self. The narrator is fighting within his self as he is trying to find a way to get out of the collapsing building. He is trying to survive this tragic event. His best friend refuses to go when they leave as a group; however, his friend asked him to send help back for him. He doesn’t want to leave him, but he knows that he has to keep pushing through. On his way out of the building, he saw more and more people who were struggling to survive. When he made it the ground floor, he was not sure if his friend had survived or not. He felt there was something he could have done, but also knew it was beyond his control.

Cayden, I am writing you today to give you some logical reasons not to smoke.The most important reason not to smoke to me is because I lost a truly great friend due to cancer from cigarettes.Another reason is it causes so many health issues besides cancer.The last thing is that I know that you are smart enough to make good decisions, and I want to make sure I have done all I can to make sure you don’t make a life changing mistake.So let’s discuss these reasons.

With their good customer service and very low prices the y have built their clientele base to include almost everyone in the United States. With the statement “Live better.” Makes the customer feel that if they shop at Walmart they will have a better life.

Any Burger King commercial does not sell the product it puts the name Burger King out there.The commercial were the “Burger King” dumps water on a sleepingman, and says “don’t go to sleep before the King”which means that Burger King is open late nights.
I believe this is a very bad ad.It does not advertise their product in anyway. The “King” playing tricks on sleeping people doesn’t make any reference to food, and the statement “don’t go to sleep before the King”does not imply that you should go to Burger King to eat late at nights.

At the top of the black and white page there is white lettering that reads “ACQUA DI GIO” and beneath that in smaller lettering it states “For Men”it has a man that is clean cut and has gelled back hair. At the bottom of the page it states “GIORGIO ARMANI”it gives you a sample of the clone. This advertisement is good not only because it apples to men but woman as well.It allows the customer to smell the product and makes the customer want to buy this product.It appeals to men because of the man in the ad is attractive andit puts the message that if you buy this cloneyou will look like the man in the picture
